As seen on TV’s ‘Show Me the Monet’ and ‘The Big Painting Challenge’ Anne Herbert studied Fine Art in Ghana and came to live in the UK in 1984. As an artist she is known for her rich, energetic, and brightly coloured paintings which she attributes to her upbringing in a hot and sunny climate.
Primarily a figurative painter, Anne loves to observe and paint people as they go about their daily business and is equally adept at painting landscapes and can often be seen outdoors painting ‘en plein air’ to capture the real essence of nature ‘in all her glory’ as she puts it.
Anne is an award winning artist and has had her works displayed at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London with a number of art societies including the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) and the Society of Women Artists (SWA). She is a member of the SWA and plays an active role on their council.
In 2012 Anne was selected to take part in the BBC Two TV production ‘Show Me the Monet’, and made it to the final grand exhibition at the Mall Galleries. This was followed by a selection from over 6000 applicants in 2015 to take part in the first series of the now popular BBC One production ‘The Big Painting Challenge.’
Anne’s works are held in collections in several countries including the USA, Australia, Japan and of course her native Ghana.
